Randal "Randy" Podoll

Randal “Randy” Podoll was born to Darwin “Dub” and Loretta (Aman) Podoll on December 20, 1959. He grew up in Westport, SD with his brother, Monte, and his sister, Leslie. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1978. He worked with his father in construction until he became a substitute rural mail carrier in Westport. He later became a full-time rural mail carrier in Ipswich, SD, where he made his home.

Randy enjoyed visiting with the people on his route which was the longest in the state at 195 miles. He retired from the postal service in 2015 after 27 years of service. He then moved to Aberdeen to spend more time with his family.

Randy enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brother. He also went trapping with his sister when he was younger. After his retirement; he enjoyed working on his house and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

Grateful for having shared Randy’s life are his mother, Loretta Podoll; brother, Monte Podoll; and sister, Leslie Podoll.

Preceding Randy in death are his father, Darwin Podoll and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
