Patricia Fey

Patricia Ann Fey, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 in Sioux Falls.
Patricia Ann Fey, daughter of Peter and Gladys (Shultz) Bymers, was born March 21, 1926 in a farm home near Conde, SD. She lived in Spink and Clark counties, and graduated from Raymond High School in 1943. She attended NSTC in Aberdeen and taught elementary and junior high school for a total of 18 years, both prior to and after her marriage to Rollie Fey, October 26, 1946. She lived in Turton, SD until 1976 when the US Postal Department transferred her husband to Madison, SD. He passed away on February 16, 1990. While living in Madison she was employed by Job Services of SD as a Claims and Job Service Representative from July of 1976 until 1988. She continued to live in Madison until August of 2004 when she moved to Clark.
In late July, 2016, after experiencing memory issues and realizing she could no longer live on her own, Patricia moved to Fay Wookey Assisted Living in Clark, SD where she resided for two years. As a result of her worsening memory loss, she moved to Prairie Creek Memory Care Assisted Living in Sioux Falls, SD in November, 2018 to be closer to her daughter. During the past few months, she also received care from Avera Hospital Hospice program while a resident of Prairie Creek. On September 5, 2022, Patricia passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Golfing, sewing, cooking, and making improvements in her home, whether aesthetic or practical, enriched Patricia’s life. While living in Turton, SD, she wallpapered the dining room every two years and drew up plans for remodeling which caused Rollie a bit of angst. Another favorite pastime of hers was visiting and laughing with friends and family about politics, religion, finances, and life in general.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Gladys Bymers; her husband, Rollie E. Fey; her brothers, Dean Bymers and Marvin Bymers; her sisters, Valois Danekas and Ramona Kirkeby; brothers-in-law, Bill Danekas, Lee Kirkeby, and Laird Rasmussen.
