Maureen B. Juve


Maureen Beverly (Sorensen) Juve, 87, of Aberdeen, SD, died on Monday, January 9th, at Prairie Heights Healthcare of Aberdeen.
Maureen was born in Ortonville, MN, on March 11, 1935 to Anna (Knudsen) and Magnus Sorensen. She graduated from Ortonville High School in 1953.
She married Richard “Dick” Juve on April 26, 1958. They were married 58 years and lived in Mobridge, Rapid City, Belle Fourche, Webster, Waubay, and Aberdeen.
After having children Maureen was a stay-at-home mom, eventually returning to work in bookkeeping and office positions at Taylor Music and Midwest Pump and Tank. Family vacations and summer weekends were often spent at the cabin she and Dick bought on Blue Dog Lake, near Waubay, SD. Upon retirement, they moved to Blue Dog and enjoyed life at the lake for several years.
Maureen loved visiting with friends and family, and she especially looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren. While living in Waubay she was a member of the Literary Club and the Immaculate Conception Parish. In younger years, she and Dick were very active in the Webster Jaycees.
Maureen is survived by her sons, Joe (Theresa) Juve of Aberdeen, SD, and Jack (Lynne) Juve of Champlin, MN; her daughter Kristy (Brad) Ward of Minnetonka, MN; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Arment, Emily (Austin) Halfpop, Natalie Ward, Rachel Juve, Adam Ward, and Isabella Juve; her great-grandchild Aspen Arment and her sister Mary Ann Ulrich of Ortonville, MN.
Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; parents, Magnus and Anna Sorensen; her brothers, Paul, Willard, Kenneth, and Clifford Sorensen; her sister Doris Held; and her grandchild Mary Juve.
