Lucille ‘Lucy” Mae (Larson) Tollifson, 97, of Aberdeen, SD left our earth to join our heavenly father’s home Saturday, January 17, at Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.

Lucille Larson was born on June 30, 1928, to Peter & Clara (Erickson) Larson at their country home near Aububon, MN. She grew up on the family farm attending country school through the 8th grade, she then attended Aububon High School graduating in 1943. After high school she moved to Detroit Lakes and became employed with JC Penny.

In 1950, Lucille married her classmate Leonard Tollifson in Audubon, MN. Shortly after their marriage Leonard was drafted into the US Army. Lucille traveled with him living in Alabama, Texas, and South Carolina. In 1953, they returned to Minnesota and lived in Moorhead, MN for four years. While in Moorhead, Lucille worked for Gamble Shagma as an office secretary. In 1957, they moved to Jamestown, ND where she worked as a secretary for Nodak Oil Co. In 1967, the family moved to Aberdeen, SD.

Lucille had been involved in volunteer work at her church "Bethlehem Lutheran", as a church historian, Sunday morning receptionist and a funeral serving group. She was a member of the ELCA Woman, American Legion Auxiliary, YMCA member, and Northern Wolves Club.

Grateful for having shared Lucille's life are her Daughter: Cindy Herr (Clyde Hieb), Son: Steve (Tina) Tollifson; Grandson: Matt (Lana) Tollifson; Step Granddaughter: Brenda (Daryn) Goetz; Great granddaughters: Marlee (Brennen) Tollifson, Cali Tollifson, Cymbria (Caleb) Victor; Great grandsons: Chris Tveit, Kadden (Bailey) Stapp, Brenden Stapp; her Brother-In-Law, Don Larson, and many nieces & nephews.

Preceding Lucille in death are her parents Peter and Clara Larson, her husband Leonard Tollifson, her brothers: Bernard, Donald & Leonard. Her sisters: Dorothy, Charlotte, Ruth, Helen & Phyllis. Her son-in-law, Tom Herr, a great grandson, Dylan Tollifson and a great-great grandson, Stetson Bierman.
