Kyle W. Backous

Kyle Wade Backous was born November 16, 1976 to Terry and Debra (Heupel) Backous at Dakota Midland Hospital in Aberdeen SD. He passed peacefully on June 19, 2025 at LifeScape, Sioux Falls SD.

He attended head start at age 3. Then attended life Skills classes at Lincoln Elementary and Aberdeen Central until age 18.                                      

He then entered the Adjustment Training Center (Aspire) system.   At age 36 he started at LifeScape until his passing. He lived in group homes with Adjustment Training Center in Aberdeen SD and Lifescape Sioux Falls SD. In His school years he loved playing sports. Played baseball and softball with Park and Recreation in Aberdeen. He was MVP of Special Olympics Basketball. His other love was watching Baseball.  Especially the Minnesota Twins.  Favorite player was Kirby Pucket. He knew when Pucket wasn't in the batting line up.  Favorite song "Take Me Out To The Ballgame".

He will be missed by his Brothers Cory(Theresa) Backous, Joel (Holly) Backous. Sister Elissa(Chris) Allen. His many friends from the 3rd Ave  neighborhood. Nieces, Nephews many cousins and Aunts and Uncles.

Many thanks to all the people who entered his life from Aberdeen to Sioux Falls.  Thanks for all the care by Aberdeen school system, Adjustment Training Center (Aspire), LifeScape, Hospice and Palliative care.
