Katie Bohlander

Katie Bohlander passed away on August 17, 2026, at age 93, in Bismarck, ND, at Missouri Slope.

Katie was born on October 26, 1932, to Gustave and Freida (Lutz) Delzer in Venturia, ND. She grew up in a refrigerated railcar that was converted into a home and attended school in Venturia.

Wilmer Bohlander lived on a farm nearby. Katie and Wilmer began dating, with Wilmer often walking across the prairie to visit Katie, even on cold, dark winter evenings.

Katie and Wilmer were married on November 11, 1951, in Herried, SD. They had 2 sons. They moved to Aberdeen in the early 1960s, where Katie cleaned rooms at the Breeze Inn and also cleaned houses and painted. She later worked for many years at Control Data making electronic chips under a microscope. At the time of her retirement, Katie was a seamstress and did alterations at Brides n’ Belles.

They moved to Bismarck, ND in March of 2025 to be closer to family, and enjoyed many happy visits from children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and little dog Buster.

Katie is survived by one son and his wife, Craig and Michelle Bohlander of Sterling, ND, their children Kaitlin and husband Samuel Bohlander-Green, Chase and wife Katlyn Bohlander and son Carter, Brandon and Heidi Bohlander and their children Vahn and Odin, Leesa and husband Daniel Eckroth and children Aaron, Skyler, and Tanner VanDorsten and Bridger, Casey, and Alyssa Eckroth.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents Gustave and Freida Delzer, her husband Wilmer Bohlander, her infant son Douglas, her grandson Drew Bohlander, and her brother August ‘Augie’ Delzer.
