Ella L. Jaaska, 89, of Aberdeen, SD, died Saturday, March 23, at Angelhaus, Aberdeen.

Ella Lenora Rohrbach was born December 28, 1934, to Jacob and Margaret (Schumacher) Rohrbach in Roscoe, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Roscoe. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from Roscoe High School in 1953.

Ella moved to Aberdeen and worked at Tiffany Laundry and Dry Cleaning for two years. She then was employed at the American News, starting in 1955, and retiring in 1996 after 41 years of service.

Ella was united in marriage to Gust Jaaska on December 16, 1961, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Roscoe. They made their home in Aberdeen. Ella was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aberdeen since 1962.

Grateful for having shared Ella’s life are her nieces and nephews: Pam (Ron) Rohrbach, Sally (Mike) Friske, Michael (Penny) Rohrbach, Susan (Gervase) Imberi, Scott (Krista) Rohrbach, and Troy (Melissa) Rohrbach; great-nieces and nephews: Rhona (Kris) Mullen, Renae (Cade) Scherbenske, Rachel Rohrbach, Breona Friske, Tyler Rohrbach, Joshua Rohrbach, Tasha Imberi, Cody Imberi, Nathan Rohrbach, Ashlynn Rohrbach, and Brady Rohrbach, and several great-great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ella in death are her parents: Jacob and Margaret Rohrbach; her husband Gust Jaaska on November 8, 2015; one sister, Irene Beck; two brothers: Jerold Rohrbach and Herbert Rohrbach; brother-in-law: Harry Beck, and sisters-in-law: Helen Rohrbach and Faye Jaaska.
