Duane C. Kolb


Duane Clarence Kolb, 85, of Leola, SD, died Tuesday, April 4, in Aberdeen.
Duane Clarence Kolb was born on October 10, 1937, to Emil and Adeline (Kolb) Kolb in Leola, SD. They lived near Tulare, SD, until moving to a farm near Leola in 1943. He was a farmer his whole life. On June 9, 1973, he was united in marriage to Aileen Golz in Aberdeen, SD. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary in June. He served in the Army National Guard where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Duane was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Leola. He wasalso a member of the Leola American Legion. Duane had a large recordcollection, with Hank Williams being one of his favorite artists. He had a goodsense of humor and loved to tell jokes. Duane loved his dog, Roscoe.
Grateful for having shared Duane’s life are his wife, Aileen Kolb, his siblings, Darlene C. Heupel and Richard (Susan) Kolb; one aunt: Violet Fauth; nieces and nephews: Laurie B. (Andrew) Heupel Kling, Kevin (Kristen) Kolb and Ann Erdmann; and his great-nephews: Logan Kolb, Ethan Kolb, Tyler Kolb and Dawson Erdmann.
Preceding Duane in death are his parents, Emil and Adeline, and his niece, Erin Kolb.
