Curtis Misslitz


Curtis B. Misslitz, 93, of Aberdeen, SD, died Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Bethesda Home in Aberdeen, SD.
Curtis B. Misslitz was born July 24, 1928, to Theodore and Della (Lee) Misslitz. He attended school in Stratford, SD through the 11th grade and received his high school degree from the Navy. He entered the US Navy on October 3, 1946 and was honorably discharged on October 3, 1951.
He returned to South Dakota and became a farm laborer. He married Juanita Anderson in 1953. He continued to work on area farms until 1960 when he became employed with Northwestern Public Service Company working as a fireman and ground linesman. In 1989, Curtis married Donna Sueltz and in 1990, he retired.
Curtis was a member of the Sydney Smith American Legion Post #24 and a lifetime member of the VFW, Eagles Lodge, and Moose Lodge. He also helped with Meals on Wheels and Hub City Sams. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and listening to Minnesota Twins baseball games. He was never too serious and always liked joking around. He quickly made special friends at Primrose Cottages after moving there in January.
Grateful for having shared Curtis’ life are his children: Burt (Valerie) Misslitz, Dan (Becky) Misslitz, Tim (Sharon) Misslitz, Marlys Misslitz, and Karen Misslitz; Grandchildren: Ted (Amy) Misslitz, Rachel (Tyler) Hofer, Joshua Misslitz, Misty (Lance) Bothe, and Christina (Steve) Menzie; great-grandchildren: Archer Hofer, Camber Hofer, Sawyer Hofer, Levi Bothe, Tyler Menzie.
Preceding Curtis in death are his second wife, Donna Misslitz, parents, Theodore and Della Misslitz; and siblings: Vernon Misslitz, Don Misslitz, Bernice Sherrill, Alta Schmig, and Ethel Misslitz.
