Clyde R. Hieb

Clyde R. Hieb, 73, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Vibra Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Clyde was born on May 12, 1953, to Howard and Florence (Martell) Hieb in Ipswich, SD. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1971. He worked at various printing shops in Aberdeen throughout his career, including Dakota Farmer, Midstates Printing, the South Dakota Department of Labor, and the Print Shop at Northern State University.

Clyde, also known as “Walleye Clyde”, enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed it almost as much as he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, to whom he passed on his love of the outdoors. He loved his siblings and cherished his time spent with family. He also enjoyed his time with Cindy’s family, which he considered his own.

Anyone who knew Clyde knew he was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He spent a lot of time helping his sister at D’s Catering and Cindy’s mom with whatever she needed.

In Clyde’s free time, he volunteered at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he was a member and helped with the Wednesday night meal ministry.

Grateful for having shared his life are his special friend, Cindy Herr; siblings, Marilyn Hieb, Kathy (Les) Jung, Sue (Alan) Oberlander, and Jeff (Cris) Hieb; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, brother Veril, and sister, Diane Dumire.

He will be greatly missed.
