Carol Olson

Carol Olson, 77, of Aberdeen, SD, died Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Prairie Heights Healthcare in Aberdeen, SD.

Carol was born January 19, 1948, in McIntosh, SD to Oscar C. and Ida E. (Hoeger) Olson. She grew up on a farm near McLaughlin, SD and attended McLaughlin schools. Carol graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1966 and later attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, SD.

Carol married Donald R. Olson on August 31, 1968, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLaughlin, SD. They later welcomed their daughter, and made their home in various places in SD where Don had teaching and administrative positions, including White, Roscoe, and Iroquois. Following Don’s retirement, Carol and Don moved to Aberdeen, SD where Carol resided until her death.

Carol is survived by her brother, Norman Olson of McLaughlin, SD; her daughter and family; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Olson; her parents, Ida E. and Oscar C. Olson; and her sisters, Darlene Michel and Myrna Jundt.
