Bradley 'Brad' Wilson

Bradley ‘Brad’ Wilson, 71, of Aberdeen, SD, died Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at home in Aberdeen.
Bradley ‘Brad’ Wilson was born March 28, 1955, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Lester & Vivian (Fischer) Wilson. In his younger years, Brad was the club house boy for the Aberdeen Pheasants baseball team. Later teenage years brought many cooking jobs at Leo’s Good Food, the Sheraton, Artic Circle, Terry’s Drive-In, and Country Kitchen. He graduated in 1973 from Aberdeen Central High School. He signed up for the US Army on the buddy system with Tim Hornaman right out of high school. Unfortunately, Brad failed the physical and sent Tim on his way. He then began his 44 year career at the Aberdeen American News, working in several different departments. He retired in 2018. Retiring brought relaxation, fishing, hunting, and watching sports. Brad was a die-hard horse racing fan. From a young age, his Dad would take him to the horse races, he was hooked. Brad was also a dedicated Colts fan, first when they were in Baltimore and then when they moved to Indianapolis. He was able to attend several games in Indy with his wife Vickie, whom he married on August 29, 1981, in Oakes, ND. He also loved the Atlanta Hawks and North Carolina Tarheels. Brad loved to fish and go hunting with his co-worker and friend, Terry Salfrank. He also loved to garden with Del Griffin and his wife Dorma. Many stories were told while planting and harvesting the vegetables. Brad loved his pets, most recently Charlie and Sugar.
Brad was diagnosed with ALS in September of 2025. He fought the fight until the end. Rest in peace.
Grateful for having shared Brad’s life are his wife Vickie Wilson; daughter Corriane Wilson; brother Shane (Terri) Wilson; and step-sister Kristen (Dave) Griffith and their children Colson and Linden.
