Arlene S. Bain

Arlene Sylvia Bain was born on August 31, 1938 – and died on June 14, 2025.

Her parents were Arthur Schlenker of Onida, SD. She graduated from Groton High School in 1958. She had four other siblings: Ardis, Arla, Arthur and Arlan.

In 1960, she married Donald Roth, and they had four children: Donna, Jeff, Larry and Sandy.

Arlene’s life was woven with tough love and deep devotion to her family. Over the years, she has left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was an exceptional cook, a skilled seamstress, and master baker.

As a single mother, Arlene worked tirelessly to provide for her family. She had a position at the Holiday Inn as a salad maker, and later, due to her health challenges, she opened and successfully ran a daycare for 10years.

In 1977, she met Curtis Bain. Three months later, they married on February 11, 1978. Together, they had a blended family of ten children which now included Dale, Valerie, Pam, Matt and Nick. Arlene and her husband, Curtis Bain, were married for 32 years. Curtis passed away in 2009. In the last 16 years of her life, she has lived in Wenatchee, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Ardis, Alice and Arlan.
