Arlene Job


Arlene Job, 91, of Aberdeen, SD, formerly Leola, SD, died Saturday, July 1, at Prairie Heights HealthCare.
Arlene Laverna Mohr was born December 22, 1931, to William and Anna (Guthmiller) Mohr on the homestead northeast of Hosmer in McPherson County, SD. This where she grew up along with ten siblings.
Arlene was united in marriage to Curtiss Job on December 20, 1953 in the Jehovah Lutheran Church northeast of Hosmer, SD. They started their life together farming and raising their family of five. They farmed until they retired and moved to Aberdeen, SD.
Arlene was a member of Aldersgate Church in Aberdeen, where she was a member of the ladies sewing club. She was a member of the Leola American Legion Auxilliary. She also played organ in the Reformed Church in Leola for twenty years. She was very talented in knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Putting puzzles together, doing crossword puzzles, and gardening were favorite hobbies of hers.
Arlene was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend.
Grateful for having shared Arlene’s life are her husband of 69 years: Curtiss Job; children: Sonja (Job) Lapka, Carlton (DeeAnn) Job, Warren (Denice) Job, Timothy Job, and Lance Job; grandchildren: William (Carrie) Lapka, Carrie Johnson, Shantell (Jared) Gross, Bryce (Calli) Job, Brittany (Macklin) Marquis, Brandon (Karina) Job, Tosha Job, Marlena (Brady) Smith, and Lauren (Courtney Brishaw) Job, great-grandchildren: Eva, Lila, and Tess Lapka, Porter and Emilee Johnson, Remi and Jake Gross, Olli Job, Waylon Marquis, Ashton Mathison, Kamden and Veda Smith, and Everly & Letti Job; and her siblings: Delores Sieler, Eunice Stevens, Linda Stabbe, Wylie Mohr, Chuck Mohr, and Cynthia (Ron) Kauk; sister-in-laws Delores Heupel, Velma Mehloff; brother-in-law Vern Job; many nieces, and nephews and their families.
Preceding Arlene in death are her parents: William and Anna Mohr; siblings: Elton Mohr, Wilma Mohr, Vera Jung, and Elnora Jung; in-laws: Carl & Christina Job, Myrt Mohr, Loyd Sieler, Lyle Stabbe, Elmer & Elnora Job, Hilton Mehloff, and Melvin & Florence Boschee.
