Roger Henry Krueger
Date of Birth: March 10, 1935
Died on: November 21, 2019

Roger Henry Krueger, 84, of Aberdeen died November 21, 2019 at Primrose Place Assisted Living.

Roger Henry Krueger, son of Henry and Sophia (Reidlinger) Krueger was born March 10, 1935 at Kulm, ND.  When he was three years old his family moved to the Ashley, ND area.  This is where he grew up and attended school.  Roger entered the United States Marine Corps and while in the service he earned his GED.  He was stationed in San Diego, CA.

Roger was united in marriage to Jacqueline Spitzer on April 3, 1955 in Zion Lutheran Church at Ashley.  Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Ashley where he worked at Red Owl.  In 1959, he and Jacqueline moved to Aberdeen where he worked for Scepaniak Flooring for over 25 years.  Later, he was a driver for Jewett Drug until his retirement in 1997.  During Roger’s working career, he purchased homes in need of repair and renovated them.  Roger loved working with his hands.  He could do all of the work himself related to home renovation.  He had friends in every trade and knew exactly how to borrow their tools.

He always had time to dumpster dive and was always looking for his “black bag of money”.  Roger had a quick wit and a sarcastic sense of humor.  He enjoyed gardening and was a very good cook in the kitchen.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 and National Rifle Association.

Grateful for having shared Roger’s life are his daughter, Candy (Paul) Hamik of Aberdeen; son, Brad (Paula) Krueger of Aberdeen; three grandchildren, Daniel (Allison) Hamik, Derek (Ashley) Krueger and Jacob Hamik; one great-grandchild, Henry Hamik; brother, Harold Krueger of Wishek, ND and sisters, Vera David of Sioux Falls and Betty Golz of Clinton Township, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jacqueline (7-13-1983), two brothers, Roy and Bobby and one sister, Joan Rau.
