LeRoy died Friday, August 2, at Prairie Heights HealthCare, Aberdeen, SD.

LeRoy Adam was born October 14, 1938, to Milbert and Lydia (Weishaar) Adam in Leola, SD. At the age of four, they moved to a farm six miles south of Leola. He attended elementary school in Leola from first grade through third grade and finished his elementary education in a rural school just one mile from their farm.

His family moved to Lodi, CA, for his freshman and sophomore years, then moved back to Leola. LeRoy graduated from Leola High School in 1957. He participated in football, track and loved his vocal music.

After graduation from high school, LeRoy attended Northern State Teachers College for one year, then entered the U.S. Army, spending some time in Germany. He continued his education at Northern State College, graduating with his Bachelor of Science in education in 1966. He taught school in Loyalton, SD, for one year, one year in Brentford, and the next fourteen years in Warner. He coached football in Warner for six years. He earned his Master’s Degree in administration.

In 1974, LeRoy began his employment with Share Commercial Corporation. He often said that his most enjoyable time in teaching was with his football team in Warner.

LeRoy was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he served on the Endowment Team and ushered.

Grateful for having shared LeRoy’s life are his sister Berneice & Bob Kilber, Highmore, SD; nieces: Patricia & Brian Belmont, Westminster, CO, Amy & Ken Hoffman, Highmore, SD, Wendy & Mike Testerman, Broomfield, CO; great-nieces and nephews: Hannah Belmont, MacKenzie Belmont, Samantha Hoffman, Tate Hoffman, Christian Testerman.

Preceding LeRoy in death are his parents Milbert & Lydia.
