Willard “Willie” Wolff, 77, Aberdeen, SD, passed away February 18, 2019, at his home in Aberdeen.

Willard ‘Willie’ Wolff was born to Ernest and Hulda (Walz) Wolff on June 25, 1941, on a farm nine miles west of Forbes, ND. He was the oldest of two boys. He attended school in Forbes through his sophomore year when he moved to Ellendale and graduated in 1959. During his high school years, he held various jobs around the Forbes and Ellendale area.

After high school he enlisted in the US Air Force. After four years in the military he came back home and went to college in Ellendale. In 1966, he married Mary Ann Mykleby and out of that marriage two daughters were born. In 1968, he moved to Aberdeen to finish college. In August of 1993, he married Beverly Wahl who had one daughter. Willie worked for various businesses in Aberdeen over the years and spent 23 years working for Northwestern Public Service before retiring in 2000.

Willie enjoyed playing music and entertaining at nursing homes. Willie and Bev spent many hours traveling in their motorhome to bluegrass festivals and fiddle contests. In April of 2014, Willie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Bev; daughters; Lori Peterson, Concord, CA, Jo Ann (Warren) Golla, Eden Prairie, MN, and Rhonda Sommers, Aberdeen, SD; five grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Jessica Sommers, and Sierra, Anika and Willow Golla; and one brother, Jim (Ethel) Wolff.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Ernest and Hulda Wolff; mother and father-in-law, Milton & Alice Ford; and son-in-law, Steve Sommers.
